Every year on the third weekend of October the Jamboree On The Air (IOTA) is being held.
And last weekend was it again 49e the time that this event took place.
During this worldwide event, scouting groups came in contact with each other through radio amateurs.

From Zeeland this year the following groups participated:
- Kazan de Wolf - Middelburg (PA3GEO/J en PA1FZH/J).
- De Canisiusgroep - Kloosterzande (PA0WLM/J).
- De Baden Powell group - Arnemuiden (PA3GFW/J.
- Kazan the wolf does participate already more than 22 years of the IOTA and in the past years.
Through changing interests, transmitting is going to the background, but what comes in place are things like foxhunting and GPS.

During several meetings by the scouting members, some ideas were suggested, and after consultation with the radio amateurs, a program was put together:
- For the youngest branch (the beavers, 5 - 7 years) Robert, PA3GEO, already has a few years a good program with some LPD contacts and some very slow speed morse.
- Also, there was a coloring plate that the scouts could color.
- For the age group afterward (the Esta's, 7 - 11 years) a combination of APRS and Foxhunting was chosen.
- From the VERON department Vlissingen the bunker was made available as second club space.

Two groups were visible on APRS at their excursion from Middelburg-South to the bunker Biggekerke.
The Esta's could follow their group members by means of 70 cm indications were given from other groups.

After the lunch, the fox hunting principles were shortly repeated and went to the Esta's in groups of 4 men in search of the 80 meters fox.

For us as radio amateurs, this is rather easy.
The Esta control persons came up with a complete tale concerning a crashed down spacecraft and some AIVD invention, which gave an extra tense dimension.

For the Scouts (the age group up to 14 years) there was a GPS course and excursion at night with APRS.
Unfortunately appeared that at Budel-tracker that the time between transmitting two land-marks was too long for a good the real-time idea of giving where the current groups were.
The coming year this delay will be incorporated in a new game.

Hereby a specification about the things used:

During the evening meal at Kazan the plans for the coming year were already discussed.
It is certain that we incorporate the bunker, GPS, and APRS in the game, but also the component connections will be used more next time.
