On 4th July, we started by replacing the old bulbs with new LED strips, which consume less energy and provide more light than normal bulbs.
We also installed a camera system to get a good view of the surroundings.
The live-camera pictures are available on our website for everyone to see. Paree sponsored us for this project.
We paid a lot of attention to the cables to ensure that they were neat and functioned properly.
On Sunday 18th July, we planned to carry out maintenance on the 20-meter beam on the bunker.
We lowered the antenna and repaired it because some parts had come loose after the storms.
We also fixed many cables, connectors, and other items.
Unfortunately, only a few people could help, so we need to reschedule.
Those who came were Jesse PE1RUI, Rob PE1KHX, and Pieter PD5EW.
They decided which bunker activities we could carry out. We continued to work on the lighting and camera systems.
It was a very productive and social day.
Below are some pictures of the activities of the Veron VLI crew:
- Jesse PE1RUI prepares the CCTV camera for installation in the tower. He placed it in the housing of a 300W halogen bulb to protect it from the environment.
- Rob PE1KHX repaired the new lighting in the engine compartment.
- Evert worked on assembling the cables in the shack.
- Pieter PD5EW worked in the conversation area to hide the cables in a decent way.
- The CCTV camera was ready to be installed in the tower.
